Abstract

At Oncolnyx, we plan to develop new molecular-oriented ways to help increase cancer therapeutic innovations. By using ctDNA or cell-free circulating tumour DNA as our non-invasive biomarker, physicians can use these signals to not only detect answers but also make informed guided treatment options.

Solid Tumour / Liquid Tumour?

A solid tumour represents an abnormal growth of cells within an organ system anywhere(i.e. breast cancer etc.). Liquid tumours are often present in areas of bone marrow, blood or lymph nodes (i.e. leukemia).

Blood-based testing can ensure relapse-free survival rates via ctDNA statuses.

Since 90% of all tumour diagnoses are solid tumours - these require extensive sequencing, which was only financially feasible recently. It's important to note that solid cancer tumours fail to output biological signals. The remaining circulating tumour DNA also known as ctDNA represents the bloodstream DNA once derived from a tumour origin. Physicians measure this via the MRD (minimal residual diseases) metric, which calculates any remaining cancer in the patient's body AFTER the first line of treatment.
